About the Role:
The Sr. IT Project Manager will be responsible for all aspects of the overall direction, implementation, execution, control, and project management of the entire enterprise technology projects, including research and development of new concepts, ideas, and applications, to ensure it is in line with our strategy, commitment, and goal. Interact with the Technology and business unit functional teams to develop and achieve project objectives.
Initiates project management methodologies, systems, and tools to effectively direct all project phases – Define/Initiate, Plan, Execute, Monitor and Close.
Assists the development of the Project Proposal to ensure Scope of Work is properly defined and that the project team has a clear understanding of objectives.
Maintain strategic focus to ensure balance between immediate project needs and long-term company goals.
Track and monitor projects against schedule, budget, and phase objectives; establish reporting strategy to communicate project status to leadership and key stakeholders.
Successfully communicate project expectations to team members and stakeholders, including senior management on progress and problem situations, risks, and issues in a timely and clear fashion.
Develop and implement recovery action plans for off-schedule and unanticipated occurrences.
Mentor and coach project team members assigned to support each project.
Monitor, track, and control outcomes to resolve issues, conflicts, dependencies, and critical path deliverables.
Develop and deliver progress reports, proposals, requirements documentation and presentations to various audiences, including project team, business management, and customers.
Lead regular Project Meetings in cooperation with other management.
Manage project budgets and control expenses effectively.
Provide feedback regarding employee performance on a project team to respective functional managers.
Recommend new processes as needed to improve quality, cost, or on-time delivery.
Oversee and identify project scope changes and prepare communications to notify stakeholders.
Establish and maintain relationships with key customer stakeholders on each project; continually seek to capitalize on opportunities to increase customer satisfaction.
Some travel may be required for this position.
10+ years of relevant experience handling IT related projects
Project Management experience
Proficient with Microsoft tools
Advanced knowledge of Business Analysis, such as: Requirements gathering, Business Requirements capture and documentation and Process flows
Advanced knowledge of Digital Transformation and pertinent projects, such as: Process re-engineering and automation, Data migration and integration, Electronic Content Management Systems, ERPs, CRMs, Business Web Technology, etc. Cloud technologies, Project Management Tools, such as: MS Project, JIRA, Smartsheet, Monday.com, Trello, etc.
Must be self-driven and able to work with little or no supervision.
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
Strong organizational skills, meticulous attention to detail, high sense of responsibility
Ability to execute ideas, learn and be involved in the business
Ability to work within ambiguity and competing priorities
Willing to work on-site in Sacramento, California
